Really???? Time for a rant!
When a ‘restaurant’ is attempting to capitalise on a trend by offering ALL YOU CAN EAT SUSHI… be afraid.. be very afraid…
Fresh, good quality fish prepared by a good sushi chef costs money…. so as much as I love Sushi… I’m more of purist and so I’m very wary of these types of places.
Its not going to be good. It will be old, cheap and probably about to smell. The quality and source of the fish is often questionable. Fresh tuna should be ruby red, not a dark red brown… remember that when you are in your supermarket..
Sushi isn’t something to gorge on and in my view doesn’t belong in an ‘all you can eat’ scenario. Its elegance and delicacy needs to be savoured and appreciated.
And serving sushi in a Thai restaurant, (yes there is a place that has stepped over the line)… what is that about? talk about a mismatch… but better to go here than the all you can eat place
I know sushi is all the craze… but seriously if we keep going the way we are going with these ‘NO NOs’… we’ll end up abusing it like the Aussies do with their sushi rolls that ooze with mayonaise…
just my 2 cents…
